Law Enforcement Data Request Protocol

datemymomdotcom is operated by Margaret Nighthawk, LLC(Indiana). This page explains how we handle requests from law enforcement and other government agencies for user information.

When we disclose user information

We disclose user information to law enforcement only when we receive valid legal process — a subpoena, court order, or search warrant issued under applicable law — or when we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent harm to a person.

How to submit a request

Requests must be submitted in writing to matt@datemymom.com and must include:

• The requesting agency and a verifiable point of contact (name, badge/ID, agency email).
• The legal basis for the request and a copy of the underlying process.
• The specific user account(s) at issue (email address or user ID) and the specific data being requested.
• The date range and scope of the request.

Requests that are overbroad, unclear, or facially invalid will be declined or narrowed before any response.

User notice

Our policy is to notify the affected user before disclosing their information, so they can seek to challenge the request, unless we are legally prohibited from doing so (for example, a valid nondisclosure order) or providing notice would in our judgment create a risk of harm to a person or to an ongoing investigation of imminent danger.

Emergency requests

Requests involving an imminent risk of death or serious physical injury receive expedited review. Emergency requests must still be submitted in writing, identify the emergency and the specific individual at risk, and are still checked for facial validity before any data is released.

Preservation requests

On receipt of a valid preservation request, we can preserve existing account data associated with a specified user for up to 90 days pending service of formal legal process, renewable in appropriate circumstances.

Costs

We may seek reimbursement for costs associated with responding to legal process to the extent permitted by law.
